Passed away peacefully on 23 August 2026.

Dr Sithamparanathan, a dedicated paediatrician and educator, has passed away.

A graduate of University of Malaya (Class of 1973/78), she devoted her career to caring for children and mentoring future doctors. In 1984 she became the youngest Head of Paediatrics at Klang General Hospital. During her 27-year tenure, she modernised the unit, notably its neonatal intensive care facilities, and served hospitals across Selangor; until retiring from clinical service as the longest-serving department head. In 2016, she transitioned to academia, dedicating herself to moulding capable young doctors.

Beloved wife, cherished mother, and adored grandmother, she will be remembered for her kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and to those in her care. Her legacy lives on through her daughters, granddaughters and the countless lives she touched, both professionally and personally.
