Our beloved Rebecca Jothi D’Cruz, born 4th February, 1964 in
Kuantan, passed peacefully on 29th May 2023 in Petaling Jaya,
surrounded by the eternal love of her father, M. N. D’Cruz, her mother
Sarojam Velayudhan, her siblings Caroleena “Sue”, Joseph “JD”,

and Antony Balan, their spouses Terence Pachymuthu, Jasmine Jaruphand, and Nikki
Smith, her beloved niece Hannah Malini D’Cruz, and treasured

nephews Isaac Rohan Pachymuthu and Dominic Mohan D’Cruz.

She leaves her husband Anthony Sebastian, and will be especially missed by her beloved dogs Amber and Loki.

Fondly known as “Jo” to family, and “Becky” to her numerous friends and peers around the world, she was a devoted environmentalist and animal lover who dedicated her life to the care of the planet and the creatures that live on it, through her career with Wetlands International and the RAMSAR Secretariat, and as the long-serving Chair of the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA). Her contributions will be felt for generations to come.

We mourn her passing, and pray for her peaceful rest in the

arms of the angels.
