A Tribute by a CBNer

A mediocre teacher tells, a good teacher explains, a superior teacher demonstrates, a great teacher inspires. A truly great teacher, Mrs. M.M. Pickering began her teaching career in Convent Bukit Nanas Primary 2 and gradually rose to become Headmistress before  she retired in 1994. Her legacy is well and truly inspiring not only to her family but to the hundreds of students (CBNers as we like to call ourselves) that have had the privilege to be guided, nurtured and loved by her.

We are blessed when great teachers come along at the right time and moment when we need them the most. Mrs. Pickering saw potential in each student, from high achievers to neurologically diverse children, she showered each child in her own unique way with knowledge, skills, encouragement, patience and love. She truly believed that each and every one of us would find our way and voice in this world, through our motto Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty. Mrs. Pickering was and will always be our shining star.
