mourn the passing of our beloved colleague Sarah

Maalini Abishegam on 18th August 2026.

She was called to the Bar in 2003 and joined us in August of that year, first as a research officer and then as an advocate and solicitor. In the twenty-four years that followed she worked, quietly and without any wish for credit, on cases that moved the law in this country forward.

She guided every pupil who passed through her hands with patience and real care. She was loyal

to her clients and to all of us. Nothing in a difficult case discouraged her. She looked at what was in

front of her and found the way through it.

We will miss her greatly. Our deepest condolences to her family.
