(Born 11th May 1933)

Passed away peacefully on

26th April 2023 at his home.

---------------------------------------------

He will always be remembered as the talented musician banging away at his piano and singing, Jazz flowing from his heart. Played with the best including Alfonso Soliano. Sam had his own band ‘Sam Blues Trio’. Worked with the Pathfinders and Yusni Hamid. Music was so much a part of his life that his home street was called BulBul (Nightingale) after his singing voice.

A great teacher and lecturer at UTM and later in Brunei. Always helping the young to progress in life by teaching them how to fish for themselves rather than feed them.

But most of all, he will always be remembered for the cheerful, joking, loving, generous hearted man. Always ready to help another in need.

Uncle Sam leaves behind his wife Margaret, two sons David and Eric, their spouses, including two lovely grandchildren Brendan and Ella.

His sole surviving brother Johnson Samuel.

Cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he find his peace in Christ now.

Ps: And Dad, now you don’t need to worry about anyone stepping on your Blue Suede Shoes. (A song everyone asked him to sing and play on his guitar). You will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved you.
