Leaving behind her siblings,

 

Thomas Joseph & Elsie, Helen, Thangam Mary Anne & Justin Das, Beatrice.

Nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a host of family and loving friends.

Stella left for England in 1973 to join the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service

United Kingdom, in which she served for 22 years, attaining the rank of Head Naval Nurse.

She was awarded the Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and was presented

with the Associate of the Royal Red Cross Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, for her

services to nursing. After leaving the QARNNS, Stella was the first woman to be appointed as

one of Black Rods Doorkeepers in the House of Lords. Subsequently she was appointed, as

the first woman, into the very prestigious role of Red Coat at the Peers Entrance, an historic

role dating back to the reign of Charles II. Stella possessed a very caring nature with a radiant

and sunny personality, these qualities coupled with her strong sense of duty ensured that she

brought joy into the lives of all those who knew her and always ensured that she was front

and centre in everything that she did. She is very dearly missed by all her family and friends.
