Wong Sean Giap was born on December 25th 1948 in 

Kota Bahru, Kelantan to parents Wong Yeow Wye and Mah Yok Lian and passed away at Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya on

Wednesday May 5th 2021.

Sean, as he was known to his family and friends, was an accomplished academic having received three separate scholarships to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate studies across the UK, Canada and the USA, culminating in a PhD in Polymer Chemistry. He served as a Research Scientist with the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia until his retirement.

A devoted Christian, Sean was a dedicated member of the Full Gospel Assembly church and community. Sean was a sharp mind of keen intellect, a humble and practical man, and a lover of good food. After a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease, Sean has now gone home to rest and be with the Lord. He is a cherished brother, uncle, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
