Went to be with the Lord peacefully on Feb 27th. 

 

 Annamma was born in Kerala, India, and she moved to Malaysia where she raised her family and worked as a Staff Nurse (RN) with the Ministry of Health. As the maternity ward nurse-in-charge, her  extraordinary skill and compassion impacted thousands of women and newborns. In 1990, she and her husband joined their family in the US, settling in the Chicago area. After the passing of her husband in 2009, Annamma joined Sunila & Johnson’s family in Maryland & Massachusetts. Annamma loved the Lord Jesus Christ, lived her Christian life without compromise, and was a lifelong member of the New Testament Church (The Pentecostal Mission). She was a woman of prayer, and she experienced many miracles that were a testament to her faith. The joy of the Lord was her abiding source of strength. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a beloved sister. Annamma will be missed by all.

       She is survived by her children – Philip (Elsy) Mathew, Jacob (Suja) Mathew, Sunila (Johnson) Varghese, Pastor Abraham Mathew, Sunita (David) Peter; grandchildren – Jonathan, Anna, Mathew, Joseph, James, Joshua, Phillip; sisters -Graceamma (Kolabhagatu J.) Mathai, Mercy (Puliyodil A.) Philip, Molly (Abe) Daniel; and a host of other close relatives. Annamma also loved her adopted son John Thangaiah and his family - wife Parames, children Melissa, Annis, Titus, Susan and their families. Annamma is preceeded in death by 4 siblings including the late Mazhavencheril Chacko (late Sosamma) Jacob.

       Visitation is on Fri, Mar 6th from 3:30 to 6pm at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road, Niles, IL with a Wake Service commencing at 6pm. Funeral service will be held on Sat, Mar 7th at 9am at the New Testament Church, 3344 N. Lincoln St, Franklin Park, IL, followed by interment at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
