5th November 1948 - 24th January 2009
With a sprightly step and a smiling face,
Mum, you danced and parried your way through life.
You carried yourself with a touch of grace
Loving mother and daughter, faithful wife.
You were cheeky and in constant humour
Through thick and thin, in better health or not.
You left, CNY was round the corner
Half a score years, away but not forgot!
Time was when we all grieved at your leaving
But life goes on, too short to spend weeping,
So we thank today God’s great gift to us
And rejoice that you’re in His safekeeping.
Worry not, your table is set and done
More seats now, let us forge the path ahead
You’re away for awhile, not lost nor gone
And you live on, in all of us instead!
