celebrating nantha’s life

On this tenth-year anniversary of the demise of Mr. Nantha Kumaran Sivarajan (17 April 1957 - 06 Nov 2015); we, his family, celebrate his life by acknowledging his

qualities and accomplishments. Nantha was a man of integrity. Self-made, he was a brilliant student and a successful professional. He loved working with numbers (“numbers never lie” - he would quip) and was an astute investor. Measured in his ways, he nonetheless warmed up to those he trusted. His stern demeanour belied his repartee and fondness for pulling pranks

on unsuspecting family members. An ardent and knowledgeable sports enthusiast, Nantha enjoyed English Premier League football (he was a Liverpool FC devotee), tennis, and Formula One car-racing. He loved movies and music and could sing well.

Nantha’s greatest accomplishment however was as a loving, highly responsible and fully involved head of our family. He took his role as husband and father seriously, till the end. He was strict yet held abundant love for us. He was frugal yet created for us a good life of material comfort. Though his work was important to him, he was always available for us. He helped uncomplainingly with household chores and lent his expertise to various crucial matters related to us. He knew what to do in a crisis, and we felt safe in his strong, reliable arms. We remain grateful to Nantha for all that he did for us. He thought ahead and prepared us early for any situation. He provided amply for us during his lifetime and continues to do so even after his passing. He guided us, inculcating in us good values. He always emphasized the importance of a strong work ethic, and the need to earn our rights instead of expecting them as entitlements. Though Nantha’s time with us was brief, his presence in our lives was a blessing. He remains in spirit as a steadying force for us.
