Twilight
When the silken skin of Night presses
soft on the flesh
And bats swoop deliriously, released
from Day’s chain
When the owl’s haunting hoots
lure out shadows in the garden
Then the portal opens briefly:
you come in maternal love
A matter of seconds, you size me up
From two worlds a quivering update -
The return of the warrior cub to refresh
in your golden Rainbow den
While on Earth rages pain after global
pain.

My 70th here, your 39th there.

A wistful breeze lifts my hair,
Teases my ear
You’ve gone back....
