We have lost our best friend
It is with the deepest sorrow and heartfelt sympathy that we at the Carl Duisberg Center Malaysia and Germany extend our condolences on the passing of Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Yahaya Ibrahim, our former representative in Malaysia, a distinguished statesman, esteemed educationist, and a cherished friend and collaborator.
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Yahaya Ibrahim was a visionary leader whose lifelong commitment to education, human development, and international cooperation profoundly shaped the bilateral Malaysian - German partnership in the field of education. His role as a representative of Carl Duisberg Center Malaysia (since 1992) was marked by integrity, insight, and a passionate belief in the transformative power of knowledge and intercultural exchange. For his tireless efforts in this regard he, in the year 2004, received the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
His contributions to fostering stronger ties between Malaysia and Germany through educational initiatives will long be remembered.
On behalf of the entire Carl Duisberg Center family-both in Malaysia and Germay-we offer our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and all who mourn this great loss. We honor his memory and remain committed to carrying forward the values and vision he so strongly upheld.
